Danao is a town of the provine of Cebu, Island of Cebu, Philippine Islands, on the E. Coast, at the mouth of Danao River, 17 M. N.N.E of Cebu, the capital.
Danao has a comparative cool and healthy climate, is a center of a rich agricultural region producing rice, Indian corn, sugar, copra and cacao, and coal is mined in the vicinity. The language is Cebil-Visayan.
